This morning we made the long drive back from Key West to Miami. The drive is not as interesting as it could be because most of the road follows the interior of the islands. The most scenic stretch is Seven-Mile bridge that spans a gap in the almost contiguous Keys. The Overseas Highway was built atop Flagler's original train line and was famously featured in the climactic scenes of the action movie True Lies. A new bridge replaced it in 1982; but it looks like Florida is working to restore the original for pedestrian use.

In Miami we turned in our rental car, and hung out in American's Admiral Club until boarding our flight to South America. We flew right over the Panama Canal, but cloud cover obscured my view. We landed in Guayaquil, Ecuador. We had to turn our clocks back because Ecuador doesn't follow Daylight Savings time. Being on the equator, sunrise and sunset are the same all year round!
