August 8, 2026

This is a sea day so we took advantage and slept really late (eleven hours), plus we lost an hour due to a time change. After coffee in our room, we went up to the cafeteria for a late breakfast. We then went to a sky bar to watch the sea while reading. We are sailing south skirting the long western Brittany Peninsula of France. Two hours later we listened to a very mediocre presentation about the upcoming solar eclipse by a Smithsonian scientist before going to the gym.

After returning to our cabin, we learned we got our wait-listed early dining choice. Things are looking up. I wore the new shirt Aimee just made for me from Indonesian Batik. Humorously our wait staff is two guys from Bali. They had to remind us the Indonesian words we just learned a few months ago. A mind is a terrible thing to lose. Our waiter told us this ship spent 45 days in dry dock this Spring being renovated.

After dinner we attended an entertaining song and dance show.
