And then there were two! Our local bobcat family moved a little closer today. When Aimee went to wash the breakfast dishes this morning she noticed a kitten sitting on our second-floor front stoop. In an instant she realized it was a bobcat and yelled for me to come with the camera. Soon a second kitten joined the first. We watched and snapped photos from the kitchen window thinking the mother and third baby were hidden along our outside wall. We suddenly wished we had more front windows. Mostly the kittens slept like puppies in a bundle. They came to attention whenever somebody left for work, more out of curiosity than fear. After an hour they suddenly disappeared. It turned out they were hungry and went to find mom hiding in a culvert just below. She nursed them for a few minute, got nervous and moved, and then nursed them a little more. By this time our neighbor came out to see the visitors making mom skittish. She decided to take a walk with her family in tow leaving us to wonder the fate of the third sibling.

As a third sibling, I'm familiar with being left behind at hardware stores, parades, etc ;-)
