September 18-19, 2022
Aimee and I took Uber to the airport with a very talkative old lady. After a puddle jumper to Phoenix, we catch our long overnight flight to London Heathrow. The flight was delayed and we just missed the funeral for Queen Elizabeth. Surprisingly, Aimee and I both slept enough that we are not totally zonked out. We maneuver a very unorganized Heathrow airport to another terminal where we find our last leg has a 3+hour delay. Or so we thought. By accident I look at the Departure board and find our rescheduled 6:25PM flight has a last call for boarding two hours early! We make it aboard okay but we hope American Airlines would find a better European partner.
Our third flight over a cloudy Europe takes us to Zagreb, Croatia. Our driver meets us in Arrivals and ferries us to our hotel downtown. This driver is also very talkative and regales us with his former jobs working cruise lines around the world.
