Instead of buying souvenirs on our travels, sometimes we just wait and buy them at home. So on a trip to the local liquor store, we bought a bottle of Osborne Sherry. Sherry is a fortified wine made exclusively near the Andalusian Spanish city of Jerez, or Sherish during Moorish times. Sherry is a nice after-dinner drink. As we can attest, it is also popular in Britain, because Sir Francis Drake stole a large shipment during a raid in 1587.

While traveling in Spain, we saw many large signs in the shape of a bull silhouette. They used to be billboards for the Osborne Sherry Company. The EU passed a law banning roadside alcohol advertising, but by that time the Bulls had become icons of Spain. A compromise was struck where they were turned into cultural symbols erasing their initial purpose.
